Workation in Lisbon.

I won the Location Challenge 2022 and got to work from one of the two other locations for a week. This time it went to Lisbon for me! I'll take you with me and tell you what I got to experience.

Warm Welcome.

Together with my family and two dear colleagues, we took the plane from Munich to Lisbon. After a smooth arrival, we were warmly welcomed in the office by the Portuguese Birdies. In a historic building we felt like at home for the next days, and the best part: only 3 minutes away from the office!!!

With a few tasks in our luggage, we went straight to work in the Lisbon nest: the goal of the week was a new meeting room setup and height-adjustable tables. With a beer, we were able to set up the tables together in no time! 😉

The whole time is characterized by great conversations over lunch, including Sérgio's birthday dinner 🎉 and many after work beers!

Lissabon: die Stadt der Foodies

Lisbon is an absolute paradise for foodies! Here you can find everything your heart desires: steak, Mexican, sushi, Thai, Indian, Indonesian, fusion, seafood, Nepalese, traditional, burgers and much more. Eating out was of course also a big part of our evening plans, and we also took a ride on the historic tram, which we found quite adventurous! We also walked around a lot and explored the old town. We ended up at a flea market and shook a leg at the Santos Populares 🕺. At the weekend, we rounded off the successful working week with a joint wine tour with the Lisbon Birdies. There was a great wine tasting followed by a seafood dinner.

After-work-vacation & coming home.

Before it went back to Munich, it was for me and my family one more week of vacation. We did not miss the opportunity and have visited a lot: various beaches, the market in Lisbon, the city of Porto & much more!

After an eventful two weeks we went back home. I really enjoyed my time in Portugal and hope to win the Location Challenge again. 😜
